LA Splash First Impressions + Gothic Look

Hey guuyyss. So I’ve been hearing all these great things about LA Splash’s Lip Coutures. Compared to other liquid lipsticks I thought the price was reasonable ($14). My budget only allowed me to get one of them, so I decided to get Phantom, a sexy purple lipstick.

I’m literally in love with the color (I might have to wear it every day).. Their color selection is amazing; from nudes, pinks, purples, blue, vampy reds, and black. There is quite possibly a color for every unique human being out there. As for it being vegan/cruelty-free? I’ve read some of their products are vegan and they are cruelty-free. Now, for the quality. The “Is-it-worth-it?” question everyone has on their minds. Yes, I do believe these lipsticks are worth the price, although I also think everyone is over-hyping this product just a bit. I read a review where the reviewer claimed she can eat burgers and the lipstick is still fully intact. I have no evidence to prove this wrong, but honestly I feel this is an exaggeration. I eat greasy foods on a daily basis (sad, yes, but true), and I can tell you it does not stay fully intact after the process of, say, eating pizza. It definitely comes off on the inner part as well as the corners of the mouth, which requires touching-up afterwards. Not to say the product isn’t impressive because it doesn’t all fade away like many lipsticks out there, but by no means can you eat like a fat-girl without needing a touch-up. I haven’t eaten any non-greasy foods with this lipstick on, but I’m sure it will hold up much better than when you eat greasy foods. Also, this lipstick does not transfer or fade away from drinking. It does have a chemically paint smell in the bottle, but you can’t smell it on your lips. I find instead of traditional lipsticks where they just fade away, this lipsticks seems to crack away, just thought I’d mention.

Daily Look #5

Afternoon beauties. I have another look for you all, but this time it features colored eyeliner! I saw a few colorful Jordana eyeliners at Walgreens awhile ago, and I just had to get them. I’ll be posting the looks I came up with with them as well as a review of the eyeliners in the future.

Winged Flower

This look was originally supposed to be a part of my Natural series, but I felt the look didn’t resemble the flower I was basing it off of well enough. Maybe in the future I will try to recreate this look to mimic the color palette of the flower better.

In other news, I have officially subscribed to Ipsy! There was a bit of an issue (I got to skip the wait list and I subscribed on the 2nd, but Ipsy charges everyone on the 1st of every month), they made an exception for me though so I should be getting my bag this month! I’m really hoping to get this month’s bag, because everyone will either get a Too Faced Melted lipstick or the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer!

The Natural Series – Foxes

Evening, my beauties. Welcome to my new series!

The Natural Series.

Now that doesn’t mean this series will consist of natural looking makeup, but rather color schemes taken from nature and incorporated into makeup. I haven’t really seen anyone do something like this, so I thought it would be fun and interesting! This series will consist of anything from nature, such as flowers, animals, rock formations, leaves, oceans; you name it! To introduce you all into this new adventure, I thought I would start off with one my favorite animals.

As you can see, the fox’s fur consists of mainly an orange coat, with a very vague hint of yellow. His ears, feet and tail are painted a lovely brown, and of course his chest and muzzle are a brilliant white. For this look I used all colors from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Artist Palette (Buttery, Phresh, Orange You Fancy, Baby I’m A Star, and Coal). Instead of using a black eyeliner I used brown, as to not draw too much attention away from the beautiful colors we already have (plus it fits the Fox color palette better). For my lips I wanted to warm it up just a teeny-bit more, so I used red on the outside of the lips and beige on the inside.

First Impressions – Mascara & Eyeliner

Don’t you just love going to your local drugstore knowing exactly what you’re looking for? I always do loads of research on my drugstore makeup before I go out to buy it. No one wants to buy a $6 mascara and find a goopy, unusable mess inside. I’ve heard so many good things about the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara that I had to buy it, my NYC Big Bold Volume just wasn’t cutting it for me (by no means is it a bad mascara).

Maybelline Lash Sensational

• Not goopy, glides on smooth
• Comfortable wand
• 2 coats is more than enough (for me)
• Black, black volume
• Not awkward on lower lashes

If you’re looking for a lengthening mascara, I don’t think this is for you. This works for me because I like to use false eyelashes for added length.

Eyeliner. Such a basic yet important part of makeup. It can be frustrating to find the perfect eyeliner for you. I’ve been searching for my eyeliner soul-mate for awhile now, yet my heart gets broken every time. At first things seem so perfect, like it’s the one, but after finding its flaws you just can’t stay with it anymore. I’m looking for a deep, dark black eyeliner. My eyes get watery sometimes so I also need an eyeliner that doesn’t smudge or crack. I’ve heard a few good things about the NYC liquid eyeliner, so I decided to give it a try. At $3 I figured there wasn’t much to lose.

NYC Liquid Eyeliner

• Very pigmented, dark black
• Precise (but needs practice)
• Inky (need to wipe off product for a thinner line)

So far, I’m liking this eyeliner. It’ll take a bit of practice to get it perfect, but maybe it’s the one..?

Anastasia Beverly Hills Artist Palette

Hello beauties! Today I am excited to report that I received my new palette! Woo-hooo!

The order for this palette was put into Sephora’s website on Sunday night. According to the order summary it shipped the next day and today I took it into my loving arms and embraced it.

So far, I have nothing but goodness to say about this scrumptious palette. How often can you get a higher-end palette with 12 colors for only 30 dollars? Very rarely, if ever. I’ve only played with 4 of the colors since I got it, but so far I can tell you that they are smooth, pigmented, blend easy and have absolutely no fallout (atleast with the shades I tried). I compared Punch Fuchsia (top row, 4th color to the right) to Jilted from Urban Decay’s Electric Palette and they look almost exactly the same in the pan, but swatched Punch Fuchsia seems to just be a duller version of Jilted. Which I’m totally cool with.

If you’re looking to get some colors in your collection for a cheaper price, I’d take a look at getting this. It is limited edition however, so don’t miss out!

I like to have a mixture of styles, honestly. I would mostly do a pastel goth/soft goth style though.

Hah, I don’t have a makeup bag, but I have a makeup “box”. I have 3 big eyeshadow palettes, 2 bb creams, 2 translucent powders, 1 mineral powder, 2 concealers, 2 face primers, 1 eyeshadow primer, 6/7 eyeliners, NYX Milk base, 2 false lashes, eyelash glue, a quad of eyeshadow, 8 lipsticks, a beauty blender, 1 blush, a quad blush palette and a kabuki brush.. I think that’s all in my box (:

Like RIGHT now, or in general? Right now, no. I don’t really watch TV. I’ve been watching Game of Thrones and the Walking Dead though.

Eh, I don’t know. I’m not really comfortable with this question. I don’t think “crush” is the right word. I think some people are “good looking” but I don’t crush on them.
