Product Duel – Equate Eye Makeup Remover

duelheader

Hey guys. So today I wanted to do something a little different. I think doing daily look posts almost every Tuesday and Friday have been boring me, and probably you too. I’m still trying to get the hang of blogging; figuring out its inner tinkering, exploring its dark depths.. Mostly just trying to guess what works best for me though. Anyways, lets get this duel started!

duel

Price: (L) $3.97, (R) $3.97

Amount: (L) 5.5 Fluid Ounces, (R) 4 Fluid Ounces

Performance: (L) Effective & gentle, removes most mascara, wipes away the most intense eyeshadow colors with ease, (R) More effort required, does not remove much mascara

Summary (L): An affordable eye makeup remover that effectively gets rid of almost all eye makeup. Gentle and doesn’t sting if you accidentally get it in your eyes.

Summary (R): An affordable eye makeup remover that gets rid of eyeshadow/eyeliner with a bit of effort. Doesn’t clean eyelashes effectively. Stings if you accidentally get it in your eyes (probably due to the fragrance listed on the bottom of the ingredient list).

whowonIt was pretty obvious that Leftie was going to win over Rightie, right?

Please leave a comment below and let me know if you want me to continue doing graphic designs like these. It took me hours to figure out how I wanted them, etc, but I think they turned out good.

June Ipsy Bag 2015

Swim Into Beauty

June 2015

SAM_0936SAM_0938

Evening, beauties. Today I received my first ever Ipsy bag! I can happily report that I am pleasantly pleased with everything I received this month.

tres’StiQue Mini Shadow Crayon in Aspen Pine

(.02 oz)

SAM_0942 SAM_0944

SAM_0941

The full size price for one of these crayons is $26. Apparently these babies aren’t even out yet though, because on tre’StiQue’s site it says “Coming Soon” under all of the different shades. So, that’s pretty awesome.. and so is the crayon. Glides on smooth, has great pigmentation. I personally wouldn’t buy one of the full ones myself, but hey, I’ll enjoy it while I have it.

Smash Box Photo Finish Foundation Primer

(.25 oz)

SAM_0948

Unless you’ve been living under the sea, then all of you should know what this is. I, personally, am very excited to use this sample, as I have not tried this primer before. The travel size version of this primer is .50 oz for $16, making this baby worth 8 whole dollars. Over half the value of the entire Ipsy bag itself.

BeFine Cucumber Facial Mask

(1 oz)

SAM_0946

The first thing I can say about this product: It made the entire Ipsy envelope and bag smell like cucumbers. That can either be a good or bad thing depending on your personal preference. The full size price is $25 for 4 oz. I’ve been wanting to try masks lately, so I’m pretty happy about this sample.

Nuxe Gentle Exfoliating Gel with Rose Petals

(.50 oz)

SAM_0949

I’m not really sure how I feel about this product yet. I’ve read reviews that the gel is too gentle, not being able to exfoliate like it’s meant to. My boyfriend has really sensitive skin, so I’m going to make him try it (and he’ll smell like a cute little girl afterwards <3). The full size price is $26 for 2.6 oz.

Formula X Nail Color in Power Source

(.13 oz)

SAM_0945

This is one of the samples I am most excited about (right behind smashbox). This color is described as a Hot Coral. Perfect for summer. Plus the bottle is just so tiny and cute! Full size price is $10.50 for .4 oz.

And that concludes this month’s Ipsy bag! A pretty good bag in my opinion. More than worth what you actually paid ($10).  What did you get in your June Ipsy bag?

LA Splash First Impressions + Gothic Look

Hey guuyyss. So I’ve been hearing all these great things about LA Splash’s Lip Coutures. Compared to other liquid lipsticks I thought the price was reasonable ($14). My budget only allowed me to get one of them, so I decided to get Phantom, a sexy purple lipstick.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

I’m literally in love with the color (I might have to wear it every day).. Their color selection is amazing; from nudes, pinks, purples, blue, vampy reds, and black. There is quite possibly a color for every unique human being out there. As for it being vegan/cruelty-free? I’ve read some of their products are vegan and they are cruelty-free. Now, for the quality. The “Is-it-worth-it?” question everyone has on their minds. Yes, I do believe these lipsticks are worth the price, although I also think everyone is over-hyping this product just a bit. I read a review where the reviewer claimed she can eat burgers and the lipstick is still fully intact. I have no evidence to prove this wrong, but honestly I feel this is an exaggeration. I eat greasy foods on a daily basis (sad, yes, but true), and I can tell you it does not stay fully intact after the process of, say, eating pizza. It definitely comes off on the inner part as well as the corners of the mouth, which requires touching-up afterwards. Not to say the product isn’t impressive because it doesn’t all fade away like many lipsticks out there, but by no means can you eat like a fat-girl without needing a touch-up. I haven’t eaten any non-greasy foods with this lipstick on, but I’m sure it will hold up much better than when you eat greasy foods. Also, this lipstick does not transfer or fade away from drinking. It does have a chemically paint smell in the bottle, but you can’t smell it on your lips. I find instead of traditional lipsticks where they just fade away, this lipsticks seems to crack away, just thought I’d mention.

Daily Look #6

Evening, beauties! Lets not stall, but rather get right into it.

Daily Look #6

Wolv..erine..?

SAM_0899

Okay, let me just say that I didn’t mean for this to look like wolverine in any way! But I guess that’s what I get for pairing yellow and blue. Oh well. Hope you like it anyways.

Daily Look #5

Afternoon beauties. I have another look for you all, but this time it features colored eyeliner! I saw a few colorful Jordana eyeliners at Walgreens awhile ago, and I just had to get them. I’ll be posting the looks I came up with with them as well as a review of the eyeliners in the future.

Daily Look #5

Winged Flower

20150601_115015SAM_0884

This look was originally supposed to be a part of my Natural series, but I felt the look didn’t resemble the flower I was basing it off of well enough. Maybe in the future I will try to recreate this look to mimic the color palette of the flower better.

In other news, I have officially subscribed to Ipsy! There was a bit of an issue (I got to skip the wait list and I subscribed on the 2nd, but Ipsy charges everyone on the 1st of every month), they made an exception for me though so I should be getting my bag this month! I’m really hoping to get this month’s bag, because everyone will either get a Too Faced Melted lipstick or the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer!

My next daily look will be up on Tuesday, so stick around loves.

Daily Look #4

Good afternoon my beauties! As promised, another daily look for you all.

Daily Look #4

Inner Mochi

BeFunky Collage

This look was inspired by Amy Macedo on Youtube. I used Sugarpill’s Mochi in the inner corner and Monstrous Industry from My Pretty Zombie.

Stocking up – Plenty to come!

Hey beauties! Just a quick post – I wanted to let you all know I’ve been stocking up on pictures of my makeup looks, so there will be no shortage of daily looks! Also, since I have a paying job now, there will no doubt be more product reviews/first impressions, and possibly even monthly Ipsy bags!

Keep an eye out for tomorrow’s blog post! (or today – it’s midnight, hah!)
